Over the last three years, under Abdul’s artistic leadership, we re-established Tara Theatre as a flagship organisation leading change within the cultural sector nationally and internationally. Abdul was passionate about creating world class theatre and telling the stories of those often not seen or heard enough on our stages.

Tara Theatre drives change within the UK theatre landscape. We challenge our industry and address the lack of diversity and representation within it. We create exceptional, innovative and politically charged theatre for now.

Tara Theatre has a rich and pioneering history. Over four decades, the company has nurtured and supported South Asian performers, writers, directors, musicians and choreographers.
