Associate Director for Silence R&D and Tour

Role Description:

We are looking for a dynamic, collaborative and personable Associate Director who has a passion for telling South Asian stories. This role is supported by the Aziz Foundation. Based on the 1947 Partition of India, Silence is a new play focussed on communal storytelling- presenting a shared history inspired by the remarkable personal testimonies of people who lived through the last days of the British Raj. Silence is adapted from Kavita Puri’s acclaimed book Partition Voices: Untold British Stories. Originally created as a co- production between Tara Theatre and the Donmar Warehouse, the show ran to sold out performances in Autumn 2023.

COMMUNITY PRACTITIONER

Role Description:

We are looking for up to two multi-disciplinary arts practitioner(s) with skills to run workshops in:

  • art/painting/photography 
  • dance/movement
  • music
  • storytelling/performance

In partnership with CARAS (https://caras.org.uk/) we host the space for our community group comprised of refugee and asylum seekers. The practitioner(s) will be working with the community group (up to 20 members at beginner/recreational level) during these weekly sessions.

We are actively looking to expand our pool of casual staff for our Welcome Team (Duty Managers, Bar and Box-Office staff) and our Technical department (casual technicians).

Script Submissions

It is a currently a very busy time for us at Tara Theatre. We are a small team and at this time we are unable to accept script submissions and provide feedback.

We will look to opening this up again in Spring 2023.
