Spoken Space: Freedom

Curated by Reeta Loi | In partnership with Gaysians

Live musicians and wordsmiths improvise, collaborate and experiment for an unforgettable night that celebrates the theme ‘Freedom’ and words in all their forms.

“I wanted our theme to be ‘Freedom’ because I want us as artists who have experienced such varied paths to personal and collective liberation to bring these stories into the space. Stories that span generations, journeys across continents, genders, religion, caste and legislation. Stories that go into the depths of our lives, from connection, laughter, love and utterly overwhelming joy”

This Spoken Space will be curated by Storyteller Reeta Loi.

Spoken Space is a unique evening of moving spoken word, beautiful poetry, open mic and energising music and monologues. Live musicians and wordsmiths improvise, collaborate and experiment, creating an unforgettable night that celebrates words in all their forms. Spoken Space features performances from an incredible range of artists as well as open mic performances from audiences on the night.

Sign up for open mic will take place on the night to perform poetry, monologues, spoken word & music.
