The Funny Side’s Saturday night comedy show in Southwest London features some of the very best UK and international stand-up comedians on the circuit. The Funny Side began in 2006 and has established an excellent reputation as a hilarious boutique comedy night – don’t miss these great acts in our intimate venue.

STEVE BUGEJA

Steve Bugeja won the BBC New Comedy Award in 2013 and is now one of the circuit’s most exciting comedians, writers and performers. Steve co-created and co-wrote the ITV2 sitcom Buffering. He’s hosted the BBC Radio 4 series Economics with Subtitles and has made numerous appearances on TV shows including The Russell Howard Hour (Sky One), Russell Howard’s Stand Up Central (Comedy Central) and Zoe Ball on Saturday (ITV1). Steve has twice been invited to perform at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, appearing on Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow (ABC1) and on Comedy Up Late (ABC1).

Ada Campe is true variety at its best. From juggling to card tricks to mind reading, Magic Circle member Ada Campe is a one-woman celebration of a bygone golden era yet still hugely relevant today.

In 2018 she won the prestigious New Act of the Year Show (NATYS), and the Leicester Square Theatre Old Comedian of the Year competition. In 2019 Ada Campe won the The Stand Comedy Club’s Good Egg Award, was shortlisted for the Chortle Awards in the Variety category and the Funny Women awards in the Best Show category. Ada Campe is a sought after MC & comedian across the UK Circuit.

Originally from Egypt, Omar started stand up in 2019 and, in his first year (+global pandemic), went on to win the prestigious ‘So You Think You’re Funny’ award at the Edinburgh Fringe. He talks about his encounters with strange school friends, football fans and EDL-badge-wearing bouncers, providing unique insight from a childhood moving from Egypt to Wales to Cambridge.
