Stacey O’Shea

Stacey O’Shea is a London based lighting designer, director and theatre-maker, originally from Scotland. Stacey began her career in lighting design with an apprenticeship in technical theatre at the Albany Deptford, which continued into her working full-time as a theatre technician. Since then, Stacey has moved to focus specifically on lighting design, as creating, storytelling and creative collaboration are what she enjoys most about a career in live theatre. She has now worked as a lighting designer and associate lighting designer on various plays, children’s theatre productions, concerts, dance shows and music gigs in venues in and around London.

Stacey loves exploring how light placement, colour and intensity can contribute to the atmosphere of a scene and its effect on an audience. She is also interested in how lighting can be usefully integrated as part of the set design as well as the relationship between lighting and sound on stage.

Stacey is really excited to be working in collaboration with Tara Theatre and with such talented young theatre-makers on Our Streets.
