Sanchita Bhattacharjee
Sanchita Bhattacharjee is a veteran theatre and media professional with a rich history in the performing arts. Starting from an early age in India, Sanchita has cultivated a deep passion for theatre, which laid the foundation for her successful career in the entertainment industry. She has been critically acclaimed for her roles in theatre productions such as Ashol Shona & Khash Dokhol directed by Shoubhanik Natya Songstha, Utpal Dutta’s Megh directed by Chandan Sen, Vijay Tendulkar’s Shomprodan by Kontho Theatre, Bhanga Boned directed by Seema Mukhopadhyay to name a few. She has also collaborated with the celebrated Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee for Hey Bondhu Biday, an adaptation of Rabindranath Tagore’s Shesher Kobita and toured England and Scotland with the production.
Sanchita has also been a renowned actor for the television with her captivating screen presence for hugely popular Bengali soap operas such as Jonmobhumi, Ogo Priyotoma, Dhitang Dhitang Bole televised on the Indian national television channel DD Bangla. She has also worked with the National School of Drama, Delhi on an HIV/AIDS prevention documentary film which is televised every year on World Aids Day on the Indian national television. She has been an influential figure in media, particularly in the UK, where she has had made significant contributions as a host for popular TV shows such as Priyo Mukh on Ion TV and Tumi Shudhu Tumi & Bileter Adda on NTV Europe. She has additionally worked as event manager for a range of events and shows in the UK and in India, most recent amongst which is the London Mahotsav 2024.
With extensive experience in the entertainment sector, Sanchita has also become a key liaison between Indian and UK film productions over the years, facilitating collaborations that bridge cultures and industries. In addition to casting and production roles, and Sanchita continues to showcase their talent as an actor, bringing unique stories to life on stage and screen. Driven by a commitment to excellence and a passion for storytelling, Sanchita remains a dynamic force uniting both Bengals in global entertainment and for which she was honoured with the “She Inspires” Award in 2024.
