Adity Roy
Adity Roy is a Bharatanatyam dance exponent, choreographer, and teacher. Her dance, while rooted in the Indian classical tradition, has been praised for its dynamic and continuously evolving language of facial expression, capable of connecting with audiences across the spectrum, from specialists to laypersons. From a young age, Adity has harboured a deep passion for dance and acting. She received her Bharatanatyam training in the Kalakshetra style under the tutelage of legendary Guru Professor C.V. Chandrasekhar, Nidhi Misra, and Master Santosh Menon in both Chennai (India) and London. Additionally, she has developed a distinctive style of dance described as both classical and contemporary. She is also trained in English Ballet at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance under the tutelage of Zina Mamedova.
Adity’s traditional yet contemporary style of dance exudes a rare sense of devotion and dedication, often leaving her audience with a sense of spiritual fulfilment. She began performing at the age of eight and has since graced numerous academies, theatres, auditoriums, melas, and festivals across Bangladesh, India, Switzerland, France, and the UK. Her skill has been recognized with several accolades in these countries. An accomplished London-based dancer and actor, Adity is celebrated for her strong dance lines and exceptional acting skills, particularly her abhinaya, which is a class of its own.
