English National Opera at Tara Theatre

Hosted by composer Nitin Sawhney

Join Abdul Shayek (Tara Theatre Artistic Director) and Annilese Miskimmon (ENO Artistic Director) for an evening of arias from both famous and lesser-known operas.

We question the historic imperial perspective, the ideas of diversity and the challenge of an artform which inherently was written by white men.

A night of beautiful music, provocation and exploration of how we create change and reimagine existing work. Hosted by composer Nitin Sawhney with music by Bizet, Delibes, Holst and more, performed by ENO singers.

The ENO is the national opera company for everyone. They were founded on the principle that they are open and accessible to anyone, whoever they are, wherever they live and whatever their operatic knowledge. The ENO exist to create work by, with and for the nation.  They do this by creating pioneering and accessible operatic experiences that expand the possibilities of what opera is – and can be – for people and communities today, showing first-hand the value that it can bring to their lives.
