Victoria Chen

Vic is a migrant theatre-maker who seeks intersectional, interdisciplinary and international collaborations. In 2021, they made their professional directorial debut with the Singapore premiere of Mike Bartlett’s award-winning play, Bull. They presented Maiden Monologues in early 2022, their first directorial work for Zoom in celebration of International Women’s Day, and recently released a mini audio drama series, Jade: The Quarterlife Crisis.

Vic is currently developing a solo project commissioned by Camden People’s Theatre addressing loneliness and coping mechanisms in city environments, and in 2024 will explore sexual expression and liberation within the Southeast Asian female sex change under commission by the Goethe Institut in Singapore. Vic’s work focuses on enriching the heart and mind through entertainment. Regardless of subject matter, situation or company, their works are grounded in the essential desire to spread love, investigate the truth, and offer meaningful experiences.
