Meet new people at free creative sessions
Meet Your Neighbours is Tara Theatre’s free community theatre programme for local residents interested in theatre, creativity and meeting new people.
WHAT IS IT?
Your stories. Your neighbourhood. Your point of view. At the end of the programme the piece will be performed in your beautiful local theatre (Tara Theatre!) to an audience, making it the perfect opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills, build up your confidence and create a piece of theatre with your neighbours.
Sessions will feature different storytelling skills. Previously in the programme this has included writing, movement, music, collaboration, voiceover, craft works, poetry and more.
No experience is required, this is a safe place to experiment and try new things!
We’re inviting you to bring your existing skills, knowledge and stories to share them in the space.
WHEN IS IT?
Our community theatre group meet on Friday morning from 10.30am – 12.30pm for a session led by professional theatre-makers.

ECHOES OF EARLSFIELD (2025)
Our latest Meet Your Neighbours programme culminated in Echoes of Earlsfield, an epic new show created by the community theatre group, written in their own words and performed by them on the Tara Theatre stage.
Journeying through Earlsfield’s past, present and future, the piece traced the area’s evolution to the hopes and fears shaping its tomorrow. Blending poetry, movement, song and clowning, this intergenerational performance asked: what makes a place?
Echoes of Earlsfield celebrated community and explored how people from Earlsfield found their beacons of hope for the future. The 2025 programme marked the second year of Meet Your Neighbours, bringing together local residents, including older people experiencing social isolation and loneliness, to create an original community theatre performance together.
Watch the film below to hear from the participants and see how Echoes of Earlsfield came to life.
WHAT’S NEXT?
There are no Meet Your Neighbours sessions running at the moment, but we’re always looking for new ways to bring our local community together through creativity.
Keep an eye on this page and our social channels for future opportunities, watch this space!
