Over the past couple of weeks, the team at Tara Theatre have been thinking about ways that we as an organisation and sector can make sense of what’s happening in Afghanistan right now and support those who need our help the most. After lots of discussion we are in the process of organising a special fundraising event – full announcement pending(!) – and we need your help to make it happen.
Part of the event involves giving artists who have a connection to or who have Afghan heritage a platform to share some of their work. Whether you are a spoken word poet, a dancer, musician or theatre-maker we want to hear from you.
Your piece should be no more than three minutes in length as we’d like to give a range of performers the opportunity to share their work and it should be something that has minimal staging requirements. The piece does not need to be performed in English. All applicants must be available on the 25th September.
To register your interest in being a part of this special event, please download and fill out this short form and send it to opportunities@taratheatre.com with the subject line Artist Submission: For Afghanistan.
We look forward to hearing from you and sharing in full what the fundraiser will look like soon. In the meantime, take a look at some of the things you can do to help people in Afghanistan right now.
