Meghna Dass

Meghna Dass is a singer and vocal artist based out of London who has been trained in the Hindustani Classical music tradition. Hailing from a celebrated musical family in Kolkata, her training has been diverse with an early initiation through Rabindrasangeet since the age of six. Her schooling in Patha-Bhavan and formal training in music began concurrently. Songs of prayer, protests and hope woven together influenced by the Calcutta Youth Choir and their Gono Sangeet or songs of the people has also left an indelible impression on her vocal delivery and musical performances.

Meghna’s extensive training in Indian Classical music has made her performances stand out at. She has also performed at various prestigious cultural events and venues both in the UK and in India. A public health analyst and sustainability professional for nearly two decades, she has also been a passionate performer on stage. Recently, she has performed in illustrious venues such as The Bhavan’s in London as a part of a prominent Indian choir in the UK.

Already having explored a collaboration with the Indian Classical dancers and actors in the past for the project called “Hum Dekhenge” that entailed a telling of stories through music and dance directed by Suha Priyadarshini Chakravorty in 2020 for SOAS Indian Dance Society, University of London, Meghna chooses to mark her acting debut with ‘Love Un-divided: Ami Draupadi’ this year.
