Malini Raman-Middleton

Malini Raman-Middleton is a playwright and screenwriter South London. She studied film production at London Screen Academy. She is also an alumni of Ghetto Film School. Growing up in a mixed Hindu and Jewish family in a culturally and economically diverse part of London, she uses film to explore identity, belonging and social justice. Her short film ‘Jhumki’ was shortlisted for the UK Asian Film Festival 2024 and won the Philadelphia Youth Film festival. She was selected for the Soho Theatre Writers label where she wrote ‘Period Drama’ which is going to be performed at Theatre Deli in May. She is currently developing a climate play to be R&D’d at the Bread and Roses theatre in June. She also recently worked on Abaayo, a short film directed in Vancouver with Ghetto Film School.
