Community Host | Artist Callout

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for warm, welcoming and engaging individuals to host our new weekly community outreach program.

Our hosts would need to come from an artistic background and have knowledge and experience of working with and engaging with different community groups with varying needs.

We welcome skills in a variety of interests and disciplines such as, but not limited to:

  • art / painting / crafts
  • photography
  • dance / movement
  • music
  • storytelling / performance
  • puppetry
  • fabrics and textiles
  • books and literature

In partnership with Wandsworth Council

HOW TO APPLY

Please apply by sending a short cover letter or video (maximum length 2 minutes)  and  a CV telling us about your work with the community as an artist or facilitator to recruitment@taratheatre.com. Please state Community Host in the subject line.

Please also complete an Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form.

About the Project

Tara Theatre are proud to launch Meet your Neighbours, a series of weekly sessions to connect members of our local community through shared creative activities. The practitioner(s) will be working with members and visitors from different communities in our local borough to facilitate a safe and creative space at our venue, to address social issues of loneliness and isolation.

 

When: Fri 10 May to Fri 12 Jul

Time: Every Friday from 9:45am- 1:45pm

Start date / First session: The first session will take place on 10 May 2024

 

FEE:

£200 per session
4 hours of work per session, inclusive of prep, planning and set up time.

 

EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Experience of working with vulnerable adults, within the community, arts and / or charity sector
  • Hosting or facilitating community led  workshops, projects, conversations, discussions or sessions
  • DBS checked

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of any of the following languages: Spanish, Urdu, Ukrainian, Farsi, Arabic, Hindi
  • First Aid training
  • Mental Health Awareness
